Neville received his art training in 1984-86 at Julian Ashton's Art School in Sydney, and also from the tonal impressionist Graeme Inson. 

 

Australia Post commissioned Neville to design many commemorative covers as well as the Visitor's Book and display for HRH Queen Elizabeth 2 in 1990. Neville has also been commissioned by the WA State Government, and the City of South Perth, receiving the Citizen of the Year Award 1988 in conjunction with artist wife Geraldine fundraising for the Rotary International fight against POLIO . Neville is best known for his watercolour landscapes, but he has entered the Archibald Prize as well as twice being a finalist in the Doug Moran Portrait Prize, being voted the public choice. He was also runner up in the Henry Lawson National Landscape Prize in NSW in 1991. He has had many exhibitions both solo and also with Geraldine in various galleries around Western Australia. His work is represented in many national and international collections. ​His work has been featured in several art focused publications.

He was awarded the Queen's Commendation in 1976 for Service in the Royal Australian Air Force. He gained his PhD in Architecture from Curtin University in 2003.

Neville lives in Bunbury, WA with Geraldine, and their two dogs, Winnie and Lucy
